WEM CRICKET CLUB SENIOR PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
This code is a combination of the MEMBERS AND GUESTS CODE OF CODUCT and Cricket Specific expectations for best practice and ‘fair play’
For all of our Codes we use the ECB KEY PRINCIPLES
RIGHTS RELATIONSHIPS RESPONSIBILITIES
Our codes set out the best practice standards and guides against complaints by providing a measure when determining sanctions.

RIGHTS |
Senior Players must Follow Covid-19 guidance and safety
measures Consider the well-being and safety of all members/players, especially
children and vulnerable adults Quickly
report any safeguarding concerns SEE Safeguarding Policy
Treat
everyone equally and never discriminate Promote
diversity and practise anti-racist behaviour SEE Equality Policy Challenge
and report any discrimination Respect the
rights, dignity and worth of everyone and celebrate differences Never bully
or harass SEE Anti-Bullying Policy Report any
concerns SEE Whistle Blowing Policy and/or ACI Form Follow the social media and new technologies policy |
And Learn about the club, its codes
and its policies Abide by the Code of Conducts of the club, other clubs, the ECB and any other competitions/leagues |

RELATIONSHIPS |
Senior Players must Respect
coaching staff, club officials and the decisions made by match officials Never exert
influence over members to obtain personal benefit or reward Respect the
opposition Not bring
disrepute to ourselves, the club or other individual(s) Never
support violations of the rules Encourage all children to enjoy Cricket and promote ‘achievement for all’ |
And Accept the Umpire’s decision Not show dissent at an Umpire’s decision or react in
a provocative manner towards an Umpire Be
trustworthy and represent the club
well Respect
other players’ opinions Be a positive role model, especially to younger players |
RESPONSIBILITIES |
Senior Players must Display high
standards of behaviour at all times. Promote the
positive aspects of cricket, e.g. Spirit of Cricket & fair play Celebrate
good/improving performance and not just results Never
provide children with alcohol, nicotine or banned substances Celebrate
the club and promote its position in the community Follow
guidelines laid down by the ECB and the club Use Recording devices and media wisely SEE Social Media and New Technologies Policy |
And Use
positive language and not swear Play within the Laws of Cricket and the spirit of
the game Contact the Team
Captain/Manager if they become unavailable to play Treat the
changing rooms and amenities with care (home and away) Pay fees on time |
